What's the distance to the field from all stands? Looks incredible tight!

The North Stand actually overhangs the graveyard, meaning the club had to form an underground concourse for the fans to enter the ground. I've marked it here in red. |

Wow, didn't know that! The location of this stadium isn't ideal... but somehow I like that it's unique. Most stadiums have tarmac and parking lots around the stadium...this has a graveyard.

The location is a lot better know,as it has a motorway/dual carriageway, built around it,plus across the road is a brand new indoor cycling arena!See the Glasgow forums/Commonwealth games 2014!

The photo is at least 5 years old!
There are 4 main roads within 100 metres of the stadium(1 new dual carriageway called Clyde gateway-see on google map!) New train station at Dalmarnock(1km south west of the stadium) This part of Glasgow was neglected for 50 years, due to the collapse of the manufacturing trade in scotland, but,in the past 5 years,it has completely changed beyong recognition and is now the main sports area in the city. |

Really ?
The place looks good on TV from a distance. Trust me, it doesn't stand close-up scrutiny. I've read in Rangers forums many complaints from their fans themselves about the state of disrepair in the place. Even a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss. I joined just to add some thoughts on the ground.
The ground was rebuilt in 1994 after all-seater stadiums were required. Celtic Park up until that point had not been extensively redeveloped since the 1920s, and was falling apart. It was one of the only top-flight grounds in Britain left that was almost all terracing. This occurred at the same time Celtic were in a major financial crisis. After the businessman Fergus McCann took over, he rebuilt the ground, however keeping the old main stand. He did this, as has already been pointed out, as cheaply as possible due to the severe lack of funds. Thus, Celtic Park today has it's rather tired and skeletal look, because aesthetics weren't the goal; building a large-enough stadium on minimal funds in minimal time was. I am in favour of keeping the Main Stand, mainly because I want to avoid the feel of those modern, soulless bowl stadiums, as well as it's strong link to our history, and one of the few things keeping Celtic Park unique. Furthermore, I would like to point out the massive amount of redevelopment occurring in the area around Celtic Park. Before work began in the mid-2000s, Parkhead and the surrounding area was likened to 'Belfast during the Troubles'. East Glasgow saw the worse poverty in western Europe, as was evident just by looking at photos of areas such as the Barrowfield estate, directly adjacent to Celtic Park. The old, crumbling tenements have been torn down and replaced with suburban houses, and a new road has been built through what was a marshy urban wasteland right next to the stadium. Poverty is still abound directly around the ground, but it does reflect the poverty among which the club was founded. Celtic were and are traditionally a club of the poor. I'm guessing this master plan won't hinder any future expansion of Parkhead?
