OMG!!! I really dont understand this project. There will be metro in about 10 years, so why build another "U-bahn", which will be in the most of the line in tunnel. There you've got ortofoto: http://www.praha-kladno.cz/files/zakres-situace.jpg After a huge mess caused by construction of city ring on Letná and Dejvice they would start to construct another digging(hloubený) tunnel?? Oh yeah...

Prague will have 2 connections to airport and Brno-Přerov-(Ostrava) railway will be 19th century-single-track-f*cking nightmare for eternities

That's why Brno citizens don't like Praguers

And one more comment. Why is Prague-Airport-Kladno track designed only for 80kph??? Some reason?? Just wasting of money. While it will be almost all in tunnel, there should be design speed at least 160kph.

160kph between Ruzyně and Kladno! I hope the train has good brakes or it will not stop until Plzen! On the other hand I agree 80kph seems slow ("času dost" - what about 110?

Well I'll bet my shoes that there won't be metro connection to the airport in 10 years. It could be to Motol, if all goes well.

Personally I hope that the metro connection will be abandoned, line A from Motol rerouted to Řepy and Zličín. It also makes perfect sense from the city's viewpoint: while the metro would be investment of mainly it's own money, rail link would be financed by SZDC.

Why is Prague-Airport-Kladno track designed only for 80kph??? Some reason??
No need for higher speeds, since the trains will stop every 2-3kms anyway. And the part to Kladno is planned for 100-120kph.

Why? I don't understand it Metro will be built from EU and Prague's money. It's Prague's problem. Connection between biggest state airport and state rail network (Hlavní nádraží) is state's problem. Ruzyně is very fast growing airport and it must be in the interest of every citizen of CZ. Including citizens from Brno.

Yes, I understand it, but what I commented were 2 paralel planed connections. I know that metro will be from Prague budget and railway connection will be from SŽDC. They should choose one of them. As wrote bobek_azbest - It seems reasonable that metro will end at Motol and railway connetion will be for suburban trains from Kladno and of course for airport travelling.

I was only angry because of that two paralel tracks for a lot of money. It looks like all the money comes to Prague and in Brno (except MÚK Hlinky and one tunnel across Krpole) there are almost no investment to infrastructure.

vlker: unlike Prague MO, which is paid by Prague, Brno builds it's VMO from state budget. Brno deserves to be as hated as Prague if not more for draining the state budget for infrastructure projects.

That doesn't mean metro to airport is not an outright stupidity. But as Bobek suggests I don't believe the metro will ever reach the airport, at least not in the currently proposed way and not in foreseeable future. It's just way too nonsensical from economical standpoint.

No flame please I know that Brno has its city ring financed from SFDI and Ministry of transportation budget. Prague has its R1 and new railway connection.

Now it seems reasonable for me. Airport really needs new connection to mass transportation system. I just didnt understand why are 2 different track planned. And, as you said, metro will hardly reach airport in 10 years, so I vote for railway track. I thought that it's 100% known that construction of metro A to airport will start in few years. So I was angry that another tunnel track is in planning. I knew that something between Holešovice and airport will be constructed, but it really surprised me, that It will be for almost whole lenght in tunnel.

Anyway, when will be constructuion of metro A next stretch started??
