lol i have been there and it is not that bad honestly.

Jebel ali power station is closed to this area, that's why.
also the JBR stuff is close.

This one is 22 storeys according to the brochure. (update the title please)

The beach elevation looks impressive as it has a panoramic glass elevator on the outside of the building.

when do you expect this project to be launched to the public?
will this one definitely go ahead?
do you know any involved companies, eg architect, developer,...?

The project has been released through Palma Real Estate. I did notice it's still not shown on their web site though!

The project is a joint venture with Cayan, Palma Real Estate and CRC construction from Egypt. They have formed a JV company called Dorra Group.

The architect for this one and the one next door (according to the site notice board) is UAE based National Engineering Bureau (NEB)

All the above info comes from their sales brocure

Not on website as i was speaking to a palma agent, she said most of what has been released so far has been sold. She also said it would appear on the Palma Real Estate website and it was not going to have a separate website. The link is in 1st post.

@Dubai Lover this was launched at a show in Jan 2006 not sure what it was called the render and info in 1st post came from a pre launch email sent by agent to me.

Cayan is also the developer for Infinity with Palma Real Estate as selling agent

now i got it!

this one is already under c and we also have a thread for it!

i was wondering from the beginning
there is only space for 1 more building next to the jewels

there even is a signboard and render at the construction site
but both the tower looks different and the floor count is different as well, companies are the same though

hence: design changed!

architect is national engineering bureau while the construction company is CRC (construction & reconstruction group, member of al dorrah group)

also weird that there are 2 cayan-palma projects next to each other (the jewels and this one)

here's the link to the thread
http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=277433

can somebody clear this up since i'm confused now! urgently!

Hopefully this will clear things up a little;
1. Dorrabay IS the name of this development.

2. The plot next door between Dorrabay and The Jewels is by the same Dorra Group Joint Venture Company. I have heard it referred to as Dorra Tower. This may have been a slip up. There is also a thread for this nicknamed tower, (Unnamed tower 16F next to Jewels). I will try and find out if there is a confirmed name for this tower

3. Then we come to The Jewels which is a twin tower 2 plots development. Palma Real Estate is the common link. Note that the developer is different (Jade) so is the contractor. The architect for Jewels is also different (RMJM).

If anyone is passing the site can they check if work has started? Thanks

aight then it's 2 different projects! but both have the same contractors, architects,...
so, does it mean the company will build both towers or did they change plans, from the unnamed 15 storey building to the 25 storey dorrabay

i still can't imagine 2 buildings next to the jewels!!!!

from http://www.palma-re.com/Library/Prop...eCode/ART00514

DorraBay

DorraBay is a 22-storey residential tower, strategically located on the beach and marina; DorraBay offers a range of panoramic views of the Arabian Sea, Marina or boat harbors.

The tower’s curved design and location at the end of the crossroad between the beach and the marina optimizes the view for all its apartments so residents enjoy a prime marina or prime sea view or both.

Spacious rooms, large balconies and lots of sunlight enhance the feeling of space and freedom inside the apartments.

Home owners can chose from a variety of units including:
1,2 and 3 bedroom apartments, duplexes, garden terrace apartments and penthouses. Summer villas on the marina front are also available with a private garden and terrace that offer exquisite views of Dubai Marina.

Above all, DorraBay has immediate access to the white sandy beaches of the Arabian Sea.

Developed by Cayan, DorraBay is yet the result of another vision by Cayan, a pioneering property development company.

well there is this one here, plus infinity, and cayan is involved in the jewels as well, which could be 'their' (they r not really developer) 4th project someone was talking about.

still i think this 16F thing is also a cayan project. maybe the bought some plots just next to each other...

but we don't have enough information for emporis.

maybe thedubailife could find out more.
