City of Lembuswana, Tenggarong
Tenggarong, up the Mahakam river from Samarinda, is the capital of the Kutai regency, the oldest empire in Indonesia and was once the seat of the Kutai sultanate. The Sultan's palace at the riverside is now a museum where the old royal paraphernalia are kept, as well as an excellent collection of antique Chinese ceramics. Dayak statues can be admired in the yard. A curious thing about the royal paraphernalia is that they display a strong resemblance with Java's court traditions. Every 24th of September, the former palace becomes a stage of dance and music performances given to celebrate the towns anniversary called Erau Festival. =========================================================== |

blue, you remind me something. saw a documentary on channel ANIMALE here about a village was terrorized for months by a giant killer crocodille somewhere in Africa. around 2-3 people was killed. So they finally invited an expert from Europe to trap it, they build a big cage from metal and put a live mutton as a bait. They tried for weeks but failed. The crocodille, bigger than the one here in your picture, didn't want to get in the cage but went away.
Moral of the story: if you want to catch a crocodile, hire a pawang from Indonesia. They have a well proved technique (some are ISO certified )
