I used to live in Mexico City. Impressive city. Nice weather, nice setting, nice people. A lot of new skylines rising in Bosques de las Lomas and Santa Fe. The Torre Mayor is one of the best looking skyscraper in the world. I like their tree-lined roads. From my perspective, when I was living there, the air quality is getting slightly better. But it is kind of sad that the crime rate is high. There are taxi kidnappings and robberies. My friend got mugged in his own apartment garage during the day time. But besides of all that, Mexico me hace sentir feliz.

Impressive set of photos. When I visited Mexico City about 15 years ago there was like only 2 or 3 skyscapers (Quite a bit of development since then!), but even then the extent of the city was amazing. I still remember hearing the trumpet fanfare every morning at 7:00am when the troops raised the giant flag in the Plaza de la Constitución.

I like the photo with the rays of sunlight behind the Pyramid of the Moon. The interior shots of the cathedrals are incredible.

I was told that due to the water table dropping, the marble edifice (the third picture?) had sunk about 10 feet into the ground over the years.

To the person who asked about more pictures of Aztec stuff, I believe that for the most part the Spanish dismantled almost all of it for stones to build the cathedrals.

Mexico City looks beautiful.

P.S.: This exact fountain exists in Madrid.

That's correct LLoydGeorge, this reproduction of Las Cibeles was given to Mexico City by the Spanish residents in México.

I will add a few photographs at a time

Un calido saludo teijeiro

I haven't been there in years but I see that the city has improved a lot plus México city has always a lot to offer and a lot of mixed cultures in little areas, everyone should go visit it's really one of the most impresive capitals in the world.
