Built of acid washed concrete but mostly faced in steel and glass, think - sparkling white ‘Le Corbusier’ style, shining in the sun brightening up the landscape in an area due a little aesthetic value - this will be one of the largest mixed use developments in Yorkshire.

It has some great feature’s, the balconies on the principal south facing elevations are enclosed by green solar glass louvers, known as ‘sunboxes’, allowing the space to be used as an open balcony in summer or enclosed to the elements in winter.

Phase one will have spacious and flexible workspaces with 34,000 sq feet of flexible retail and office space along side over a 150 secure car parking spaces.

The architecture is unique to Sheffield and will create a highly prestigious presence for your business in a vibrant and highly dynamic City location.

Very nice, this, Scotland Street apartments (nearly finished!) and the HSBC offices across the road, plus the West BAr plans just a little further up, is creating a really dense area.

West Bar, right next to the cop shop, down the hill from the cathederal. Slightly outside the main city centre retail area.

I love the Metier Building. It is beautiful lit up like that at night.

Prefer the look of V1 to Metier Building. Metier just looks like all these apartment towers in Leeds and Manchester. Red / yellow bricks with a bit of metal cladding on top and a few terraces stuck on for good measure. I think V1 will stand out in Sheffield as this type of building hasn't yet been done to death.

I agree.

Sick of seeing the same old brick theme.

We need brighter colours around the city.

Darn shame that Eclipse is cancelled. I liked that design.

I hope Chesham House and Eclipse come online again as the city property prices in Sheffield pick up - Eclipse was a good design

Velocity have today submitted their planning application for Phase2 of the Tenter Street Development with plans for the erection of 300 apartments. 88,000 sq ft office space, 5,000 sq ft retail space and associated landscape works and basement car parking.

Disappointly the tallest building in the Phase2 plan only appears to be about 10 storeys although the Phase2's footprint is over 3 times larger than V1.

Yeah, lack of a proper rendering as well which is a disappointment.

Well that answers one of my questions about the latest weekly planning list.

The other query was:
Central Erection of office building with retail on the ground/mezzanine floors and basement car parking Land At Charles Street And Norfolk Street Sheffield 01 February 2006 Details.... 22185
http://libplugins.sheffield.gov.uk/p...Id=22185&Typ=W

Anyone got any details?
