@Skyfitsboy, Plusnet has cosen it as it's overall HQ I think, but they were already a Sheffield company.

Hopefully this next phase can bring in a large company from outside of Sheffield.

Plus net is no longer a Sheffield company as BT have just bought them out, but will still be run as a seperate company.

Off the Plusnet news:
Quote:
BT’s immediate plans are to continue to operate PlusNet as a separate entity within the BT group from its Sheffield offices.
Not sure if that's good or bad. It's good in the short term, but does it mean that there could be plans to move plusnet? (Although I don't know of any reason to).

Both TNS and Dabs.com are both still being run as seperate companies for the time being, having been purchased by BT. The strange thing with all three purchased companies is that they all sponsored football teams until the takeover.

I don't think the timing of the new deal is a coincidence.

On a seperate note as a BT employee myself I wouldn't mind a move to the new Plusnet offices.

You all need to check out the newly updated Velocity Village Website - its got loads of interesting information plus prices to rent the apartments.

www.velocityvillage.co.uk

I don't know whether anyone has posted this also, but on the site it has a future developments sections with something called 'Velocity Tower' which I think is the old Cala Eclipse - it says coming in 2008! Also a Velocity Metro!

Sounds very exciting - can't wait for further information on these.

Hmm that is intersting. The image they use is St Marys Gate but it's the render of the old 23 storey one, which we think may have been cancelled. Could Velocity have bought the right etc from Cala?

Yes.

The developer of V1 has bought the CALA site.
