Im sorry: a) it looks unrealistic (the cantelever arms at the top..especially in high winds, no chance it will look like that! b) which is good because the design looks like a pixelated baobab tree..

W T F?

Megalomanic Dutchmen comming through!
This has to be the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen.
I'm sorry.

But quietly I hope this one gets approved.
I would like to see it when it's completed.
That should be a good laugh.

I'm not sure what to think of it. It doesn't seem the right location for such a structure; suburban Utrecht. The design is also quite unusual and with such a wide base, not very realistic as well. Still, it's ambitious, and will certainly spark more debate about skyscrapers in the Netherlands.

The website of this project has videos of news reports about this online. There you can see the architect holding up a scale model. The pictures here don't really do it justice, taken from a rather low angle. The scale model is quite beautiful.

There you go:

LINK

At the right bottom side of this page, you can find links to video bits (in Dutch). The 'RTL Nieuws' one features the architect (I think it's the architect) holding up the scale model.

dank je wel.nl!!
actually, the model held in the hand of the architect looks very poor.. I don┤t want to sound negative but I wouldn┤t believe it would ever be built after looking this video..

I think it's got potential...Should make it to SSP's "vision" diagram very easily.

I hope it get's built, but I'm afraid it was only presented to start a discussion about super structures...

Looks very original. But is it a skyscraper or a tower? Seems like Holland is very skyscraper friendly nowadays!
