I was surprised at the popularity of window-scratching on German trains. I was in Munich and not one train car was free of it.

Hmm... the MRT's 3 ground level rail depots here are all fenced up with barbed wire fence and guarded...

The other depot is underground, obviously no one could get in without going thru the gate and main building..

Graf writers do it at the yard where they park the trains. There are alot of yards in Europe that have minimal security so they sneek in and paint one. But there are some maximum security yards like the Tube and BR yards in London where they have CCTVs, security and the works. But a few die-hard writers know the location, how to get in and stuff and can paint a train.

Singapore and Taiwan are the only countries I know in Asia where it's trains are graffiti free or have not attempted any act ever.

BTW, besides the KCR, HK's MTR was also bombed at one point but there was no photo showing it. But after the incident, security around the MTR trainyards increased as well!

On the other hand, graffiti wild-styles have becoming popular and is adapted to train advertising such as this one in the HK MTR.

I have never seen not only anything approaching this, but have not seen a tiniest piece of graffiti in Moscow metro in all of my life, using it daily for many years (and not in St. Petersburg either).

So far, you have done nothing to convince me that these are actually stations of Moscow metro. What is the source that would confirm this?

It's hard to tell if they were done in a Moscow metro station but from what I know, those are Moscow metro trains. Also, those who bombed these trains were not from Moscow but a graffiti crew from Gdansk, Poland.

BTW, Eurostar

10 years in jail for painting a train? Isn't that a bit harsh?

I went to this link. There are several bullshit audio tracks there (that prove nothing) and a few crappy pictures (that also prove nothing).

In some of the pictures adolescents deface Russian-made trains. In a couple of other pics two Moscow subway stations can be recognized. No trains with graffiti are shown on any station that can be positively identified as a Moscow metro station. So, I am supposed to believe by association (Russian-made trains in some pictures + Moscow subway in others) that trains with graffiti are used in Moscow subway. I do not say that this (graffiti in Moscow subway) is impossible in principle, because this would not violate any Laws of Thermodynamics. However, I trust my expirience and my senses more than these crappy and highly doubtful pictures. There has been no graffiti in Moscow metro trains as far as I know. That is, I have not seen any proof that trains with graffiti have been ever in service. Of course, it could happen any day, but I think they would not use such trains and repaint them before actually using. Whatever it costs.

The above post confirms my suspicions. It is Nizhnij Novogorod. Sad picture for a Russian subway, but it is not Moscow. Again, if you see a picture with a Russian train - it does not mean it was taken in Moscow.

The thing about graffiti is there are alot of cities where you won't see much of these on your neighborhood trains but there are a few die-hards that will hit-up one and take photos as evidence or documentation. Like Shanghai for example, you won't see graffiti ever on it's system but in one time, the train has been hit-up and the photo I showed is evidence that it has been bombed. Less likely the bombed train won't be running just like when Tubeman mentioned about the London Tube trains.

Some of these writers don't care if the train they bombing will run or not but they do care about the photos and the "been there, done that" thrill
