Nothing wrong with these venues. I see six proper and modern football stadiums (including one very historical), a nice and historic stadium in Vienna and a fine athletic ground in Zürich.

The EC is 1,5 weeks away, and there's absolutely no discussion in this thread! Are the stadia that boring?

Because of security reasons - games with some neighbour countries could be an unnecessary occasion for outbreak of violence. Israel took also part in WC-qualifiers as representative of the Asian football federation at times, but since beginning of the 90-ies it's part of UEFA. Similarly, in some other Asian regions, there was also the rule not to allow any Away fans at certain high-risk games.

Security reasons?? I call it an affront against the states of Europe.

Agreed, they are boring, especially the Austiran ones

St-Jacob Park, Stade de Suisse and Stade de Geneve on the other hand are okay but not spectacular.

I'm sure this was agreed by the majority of the member associations, so how can it be an affront?

Of course, with an additional quite strong team, it gets a little bit more difficult for European teams to qualify for World and European Championships, but isn't it also a little bit the idea of sport to help eachother, if someone is in need and not to be too picky?

Theoretically, anyone could join the European football association and concerning exact definition about borders of Europe: there doesn't exist one which is undisputed.

i would not want to see a match like Israel vs. Iran in real life in the stadium, so the security reason is for sure understandable.

To accept the state of Israel, that disregards and tramples human rights is in my view an affront, a state that should not exist in this form, thats the point.

So we could just start to un-recognize China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Singapore, etc.?

Belarus and Kazakhstan are UEFA members, too, btw.

This states are not in the UEFA, Israel is at least an exception.

And regarding China, there are people who try (want) unrecognize China with their olympic games
