This Ad http://shopping.vancouver.canada.com...x?advid=438634 shows that the Shangri la is at 51 stories already. Hard to believe though...Since I was estimating it to being around 48 floors high. But for all of you who don't know it became the tallest building on October 2 2007 noted on the Emporis website for proof http://www.emporis.com/en/wm/bu/?id=...ncouver-canada.

From Flickr, this was all i could find because progress is quite slow and the weather is pretty miserable as well.

This is a live webcam it has a live feed and will update it self on this forum every 10 minutes or so. It is positioned very well, but the only thing is you can't see the small details which are being done on the tower.

it's not really too cold, I'd say about 8 degrees Celsius with heavy rain and some strong winds.

These pics are a little outdated, but I thought they were worth posting anyway. I took these on October 4th hanging out an 11th floor window at the Sutton Place Hotel. Enjoy!

I did, thanks. Vancouver is a great city. I just wish I had more time to visit. I was up there for four days and worked almost the entire time.

That's going to be a nice view once both Shangri-La and RC are completed.

^ It's actually really easy to get to. Just act like you're going up to your room in the short-term stay tower (the elevator bank to the right of the concierge desk), and go up. Pick a floor around 16, and lean out one of the windows next to the elevators. They open up enough to get a camera through, but not enough to fall out of. Just don't drop your camera.

They've extended the crane to quite possibly the maximum height.

Here's a pic that was passed along to me by a friend that shows how the Shangri-la is impacting the skyline so far. It's not the best quality because I cropped it from a larger picture. I'm also not exactly sure which day it was taken but either way it still has the height equivalent of ~12 storeys to go if including mechanical etc.

Photo taken by Phesto on October 26/07, 52 floors have been completed with the 53rd floor being almost complete as you can see on the webcam above Ragedy's post. Topout should be sometime around Christmas. It will appear to be at its tallest when the glass fins are attached early next year. The fins are an extension of the curtain wall above the roof level approx. 40 ft.

Also heres a video http://www.pacificmetropolis.com/ nikw posted which shows the construction of the shangri la since feb 06 to late spetember 07

I disagree. I think it looks nothing like Q1.

53 out of 61 floors have been completed now. The construction progress has been going fast with a floor being completed every four days.
