In a way its too bad that its a residential tower. If it were office the majority of the lights would be on all night long, and for a tower that towers over the rest of the buidings in Vancouver, it would have been a really cool landmark at night.

That is one thing that bothers me about Vancouver, when you drive downtown at night so many of the skyscrapers are relatively dark, compared to the few office buildings that we have which light up the sky at night.

The 56th floor is being finished off today. So after today their will be only 5 more floors to make. However, the cladding is still around level 46-47.

Since ritz carlton is called "The residence at the ritz carlton and same goes for hotel georgia why isn't the Shangri la called "The residence at the Shangri La"?

Is it because residents can't live their?

it's just naming and branding.....and half of the Shangri-la are condos.

Breaking NEWS!!! This building has been extended to 201 meters now!!! Also it will now have 62 floors!!!!!!!

For proof you can go to the updated emporis website and see that they have changed the info and also when topped out the crane will stand over 700 feet!!

wow, at 700 feet the crane should be the tallest structure ever erected in the city. And I can't wait....don't forget that on top of the 62 floors, there is a 4-storey mechanical rooftop structure.
