Created by polelum, comparison of the skyline before and after Shangri-la....one building really makes a huge difference. Taken from North Vancouver, March 20:

The detailing on this tower is perfect. Commendable use of solar collectors. It has the added benefit of creating a sophisticated design element. The 'cut out' running up the edge coupled with the larger rectangular feature near the top is very elegant.

It feels like winter again today, with an icy wind, snow on the North Shore mountains, and a brief, cold thunder storm. This is despite ample evidence that spring has arrived, notably the eruption of cherry blossoms and spring flowers throughout the city.

It was an odd day for weather in Vancouver.

Depending on one's local micro climate, today brought sun, rain, and amazingly either hail or snow. This resulted in the city being drenched, frozen and bathed in intense white light all simultaneously. I happened to have my camera at the ready and believe me when I say that the colour and contrast in these photos is pretty spot on.

Half an hour later the skies had cleared and we had a beautiful, mild evening.

This tower really is nice. It's been cool to watch it go up and change the skyline.
And Vancouver has to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
