Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, a suburb of Toronto with a population of about 700,000 residents. A new condo project is currently underconstruction that will see five towers go up.

Here are the finalists from an international design competition for the landmark tower, which will soar to between 50-60 floors once completed, making it the tallest in the city.

Here are the finalists for the design. Please pick your favourite and leave comments.

Sorry for my classicism but I hope the Stein project will win it.

^ Btw, the poll is up now

I'm personally going for #5- Yansong Ma. I find it will stand-out best in the city and have the biggest impact.

Btw, does the Rojkind design look like the tower version of the Beijing Olympic Stadium?

I doubt that Options 1 and 3 would look good when built. Option 2 reminds me of the u/c Peking Olympic stadium. Nice proposal, but for a residential too weird. Option 4 is also nice, but too much light for a residential in a residential area. Option 5 is the best IMO. These curves look sexy and I can imagine it being a residential. Option 5 is also good quality, but IMO looks to boring (in comparison to Option 2, 4 and 5) for being the tallest in the planned area.

I voted for the second proposal, It's true that it reminds of the Peking Olympic stadium. but It will become a one of a kind building if you only compare it with other skyscrapers. I like the "natural" shape of the building, I like the round shapes of options 4 and 5, but I think option 5 is a bit to much. the Stein project looks good, but It's not very special.

the first four are pretty ugly, and the last one is just boring. I'm a big fan of deconstrutivism, but it just doesn't look right here. I voted for the Yangsong Ma ... it has a little merit I think.

I like #5 the most, but I have a weird feeling #6 will win.

4 and 6. 4 would be great if it weren't as colorful.

I voted for the #5- Yansong Ma USA. I think it is the prettiest and will age the best. I also feel that it will fit in with its surroundings the best overall.

All are quite nice though. More building competitions should be held such as this one.

I voted for the #5- Yansong Ma USA.

Great iconic potential and very distinctive as a design.

HEH! When I first looked at #5, my first opinion was it looks like one of those Ionic Breeze air purifier towers from Sharper Image. The more I looked at it, the more I liked it, so I voted for it.

Actually, so does #3.

I would have voted for #2 but I don't think #2 could realistically be constructed like that and work as an apartment building. I think if #2 won then what eventually got built would be a watered down version that would look like crap.

So my vote goes to #5
