I hope that there would be a thread created for the dateline of SSC from beginning 'til end.
My Questions: 1. When did SSC start? 2. Who had the idea to create SSC? 3. Who was the first member (aside from the administrator)? 4. How many forums and threads were there on the first day? 5. How many members registered on the first day? 6. How did SSC first look like. When I joined, I also saw forumers talking about a forum hack, what was that? Sorry for the questions, I'm so curious.

My Questions:
1. When did SSC start? september 2001 after 9/11 2. Who had the idea to create SSC? jan i believe as a place to discuss skyscrapers and urban issues 3. Who was the first member (aside from the administrator)? well look for people who have a join date of sept2001 4. How many forums and threads were there on the first day?not many 5. How many members registered on the first day?wouldn't have a clue 6. How did SSC first look like.like a forum When I joined, I also saw forumers talking about a forum hack, what was that?well so stupid trolls decided it would be hilarious to hack the forum and delete threads/ add negative comments to people they didn't like.

It's not official, since I didn't join in the beginning but lurked in the old forums.
My Questions: 1. When did SSC start? officially in 2002 2. Who had the idea to create SSC? I think it was a merging of a whole bunch of different urban forums 3. Who was the first member (aside from the administrator)? well it's easy to find out. Check your user profile, and at the end of the address you'll find your SSC number. Just change it to 1 (jan) or 2 or 3, etc. mine is 1996 4. How many forums and threads were there on the first day? I don't know 5. How many members registered on the first day? A whole lot. Just check on the member list for all those joining sept 2002 6. How did SSC first look like. check Pavlo's link When I joined, I also saw forumers talking about a forum hack, what was that? Actually there have been 2 hacks AFAIK |

I believe Skyscraper City began as a sort of alternative/sister project to Skyscraper Page, which started in like 1997.

The original regional forums used to be separate forums too. I was never part of the World Skyscrapers forum, but I was a member of OzScrapers for about two months before it closed and became this. The forum hack - an admin's password was found and used by someone to temporarily ban all the mods and admins, and give everyone access to the moderators' forum. The second hack resulted in the loss of the longest threads in the forum - which were at the time several threads in the UK forum, plus in OzScrapers the World Tower and Eureka threads which had about 2000 posts in each. As far as looks are concerned, SSC has always used the default vBulletin theme with the header replaced. The Australian and UK forums (and several others) had their own colour schemes - a horrid green colour for OzScrapers and red for the UK forum.
