Can a moderator please take the images of the old superseded proposal off this thread? They give a misleading impression.

No idea but I'm sure they aren't demolishing it just for the sake of it.

Principle Place

Dont expect much work once demolition is completed though..there are 2 buildings, 1 residential (160m tower) and 1 (office block 70m).

They may, if we're lucky, decide to do a speculative build on the 160m tower, as demand for City Of London flats is still very strong, but they have already had 1 tenant for the office block pull out of an agreement to move there.

Tottenham Hotspur £400m stadium will be completed by 2016
Tuesday 14th February 2012
Quote:
Spurs have abandoned commitments to build 100 affordable homes and spend £1.2million on school improvements as they signed a new planning agreement for their new stadium.

Amended planning proposals for the £400m Northumberland Development Project were unanimously approved by Haringey councillors at a meeting last night, after months of negotiations between the club, council, and Mayor of London’s office.

The original deal, signed with Haringey Council in 2010, included a £1.2m pledge to increase pupil capacity in Haringey and neighbouring Enfield, as well as a commitment that 50 per cent of homes built under the scheme would be affordable.

But those requirements have been deleted from the new document – officially called a section 106 agreement – with the remaining £15.5m cost of infrastructure and transport improvements passed to the council and the Mayor of London under an agreement reached last week.

Haringey Council will spend £9m on the regeneration scheme, while Boris Johnson has committed £18m – leaving Spurs with just £477,000 of planning commitments.

Treasury set to approve £150m London housing PFI
Aaron Morby | Wed 15th February | 7:08
Quote:
The Government is understood to be about to approve the PFI-funded regeneration of a £150m housing estate in Lambeth in South London.

The deal is the last PFI housing projects to gain approval after the Treasury decided to run the rule over the business case for 13 PFI housing projects worth £1.2bn.

One officially announced contractor Higgins Construction will proceed with the Myatt’s Field North project which involves extensive demolition work before 305 homes can be built around a new park and community facilities.

It is a member of a consortium including John Laing’s Regeneter, Equipe Regeneration, Pinnacle PSG and Scottish and Southern Energy.

The project includes full management and maintenance of the PFI properties and new open spaces over a 30 year concession period.

Up to 146 new affordable units will be pre-purchased by Regenter’s RSL partner, Notting Hill Housing Association.

All homes will be built to Lifetime Home standards and Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3. Construction will be completed within 5 years for all PFI elements and an anticipated period of 6.5 years for the remaining development works.

Construction of London offices at 25 Churchill Place begins
14/02/2012 08:55:23
Quote:
Construction of the new London offices of the European Medicines Agency has commenced.

The 500,000 sq ft building at 25 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf will deliver offices spread across 20 floors, with completion scheduled for 2014. The agency last year agreed to pre-let 250,000 sq ft of the available space.

In addition, the premises is the final London offices site to be constructed under the original Canary Wharf master plan.

Commenting on the news, Canary Wharf Group's managing director of development John Pagano said: "25 Churchill Place will provide a major boost to the local economy, in terms of jobs and contracts and [retain] yet another world-class organisation in central London."

Shepherd Construction taken back on at Berners Hotel
15 February 2012
Quote:
Shepherd Construction is to return to its work at Berners Hotel in Fitzrovia, London, on a new £33 million contract.

The contractor was hired to restore the grade-II listed structure by previous owner JJW Hotels & Resorts, which fell into administration in 2010.

Now the building has been bought by Marriott International and, working in conjunction with US hotelier Ian Schrager, it has hired Shepherd to renovate the structure's facade and refurbish its interior.

The hotel, which has not been open since 2006 and was originally built in 1935, will be turned into 175-bedroom luxury accommodation under Marriott and Schrager's Edition brand.

Work on the building by Shepherd is scheduled to be finished by the end of the year and the business should launch in 2013.
