good lord, think I'm going to be sick. There is considerate, methodical adding to a historic skyline, and then there's raping it!

What are those two blocks surrounding St Pauls! Great Scott man, I pray you're not planning to train as an architect!

I think you're being rather naive (to put it mildly).

Hopefully the cluster will not expand towards St Paulīs Cathedral and the Thames but rather to the east and north.

it doesn't look as good as the real proposals for LDN by 2012.

If london gets Bishopsgate Tw, 122LH, Heron, FNCHURH, then it will need around 6 other tallish towers to have a similar skyline to this -- however, in the other direction away from the cathedral.

am sure you're an enthusiast like the rest of us, but that should never be the outcome for London, at least I hope not in my lifetime.

The cluster is intentionally actively moving away from St Paul's with the demolition of Draper's Gardens. With a bit of luck one day Angel Court will follow suit, then Tower 42 will be the furthest West tower in the City cluster.

Lets get back to London and its new skyscrapers that will make our capitol city even more stunning than what it already is.

Take Swiss Re for an instant when it was built it transformed the skyline of London radically. I heard somewhere that Swiss Re had just been voted the best skyscraper in the world and it is recognized all over the globe.

Exactly...

London will have to get taller as demand grows and space runs out but I think it's fair to say that the planning authorities will actually do something useful for once and keep towers away from St. Pauls.

Correct we need to build these skyscrapers but protect our heritage aswell.
Just look at Canary Wharf before the skyscrapers were built Canada Square was a baren waste land now its Londons second business centre after the square mile in the heart of the city.
