Is it just me who thinks that the Boomerang building looks a little too wide in the middle?

Otherwise exciting developments, shame it's about a decade away from completion but movement is movement.

What's going on in London is mind-boggling to say the least.
The amount of investment pouring into this city, from the Crossrail scheme to the numerous regeneration projects, really gives me a feeling of excitement to see it all come together in the coming years.
I love how London is able to retain much of its historic charm, while simultaneously reinventing itself for the future.

LondonFox, SE9, SO143, and Co., keep up the awesome work!

£3billion Chelsea Barracks development stalls again
Jan 29, 13 06:01 PM in News

CHELSEA BARRACKS Action Group are rejoicing over the news that plans for the £3billion development of the 13 acre site have been put on hold by the Qatari owners.

Chelsea Barracks is the Qataris biggest single investment in London and was due to include 450 luxury houses and 123 affordable homes.

However the emirate's property arm, Qatari Diar, has stated that the strategy is under review within the context of the prevailing economic environment.

Georgina Thorburn from the action group said: "Personally I think it is a joy not to have builders there six days a week. An I also think that the only reason for delay is greed on the poart of the owners who obviously just want to sit on it until it becomes more viable when the economy recovers.

A spokesperson for Project Blue said: 'The developer (Project Blue Ltd/Qatari Diar Development Company) is currently refining its strategy for the development of this unique site to progress and realise its vision for this important part of London. It is taking advantage of the opportunity to review and respond to the context of the prevailing economic environment in preparing for the next stage of the development.

The revised timetable for appointing architects, developing the detailed designs for and submitting the planning application for Phase 1 is not yet finalised.

The Qataris investments in Britain, include Harrods department store and 80 percent of London's Shard.

Georgina added: "With so much investment from the Qatari's in London I feel it's about time they put something back into the community. Ideally we would like to see the area turned into streets and a public park instead of monstrous blocks of flats. It is peace of mind that there is nothing happening in the immediate future but it is a crying shame that the site is not being used at all, including the church which could be used for functions."

After the planning application was submitted from Qatari Diar the surrounding community were opposed to the planned development.

The broken crane from St George's Tower has been dismantled and is being prepped for rebuilding. Amazing pictures by Chest.

Hold on, this is not the final design for the Battersea power station. Last design I have seen "The Chimney" was not part of it.

I definitely think it needs the stark lighting though to show off its Art Deco brickwork at night.
