yeah I really do appreciate the pics, but old projects and especially same pictures posted over and over again is getting a bit tiring.

London’s Oxford Circus tube station transformed into a 360° Art Deco advert for The Great Gatsby

Commuters through London’s Oxford Circus tube station were met with a 360° advertisement for the highly anticipated film, The Great Gatsby.

The high impact 1920s style wrap promoting movie incorporated a unique development in floor applied graphics which was coupled with graphics on the tube station’s walls and ceiling, creating an all-round visual brand experience.

Tunnel vision: stunning picture of Crossrail construction

-- Link to London Evening Standard article --

At first glance you wonder what on earth it is… In fact it’s 40ft under the earth at Stepney Green, where workers on Crossrail posed in one of the world’s largest man-made caverns. It is a gargantuan 164 ft (50m) long, 44ft (13.4m) wide and 54ft (16.6m) high at its largest point.

The team of 160 workers, who are lowered into the site in a cage-lift, have worked 24 hours a day, seven days a week on the tunnel, which should be finished in the next few months. The cavern will mark four years since construction started on one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects. It is due to be finished in 2018.

Planners Recommend Shell Centre Approval

Planners at the London Borough of Lambeth have recommended that the proposals for the redevelopment of the Shell Centre be approved by the council's planning committee next week.

The hugely controversial development which will stand on the South Bank and York Road, visible behind the London Eye. It features a cluster of towers, the tallest of which will be slightly over 100 metres in height set around the Upstream Building, Shell's current headquarters. The energy giant is due to occupy a new building as part of the project.

To construct this not only will some of the attached buildings be demolished but also the public areas around them, including what was London's first plaza. As far as the public is concerned there will be a massive net loss of amenity space, although the developer has tried to justify this by saying that the space was neglected and under-used.

There are also numerous concerns about the impact that the project has on the local skyline, and the sheer density of it that has been attacked as massive over development.

Despite the outpouring of planning objections against the project, the councilors will find their powers to reject the project limited, and if they do so the developers, the Canary Wharf Group and Qatari Diar, could easily appeal against the decision.

Great render of how the City would look like if all skyscraper projects were completed.

1/Pinnacle is stopped due to financial problems
2/ it won't be the 2nd tallest building after shard just because Frankfurt & Paris which have the power to have the tallest building in E.U

this project is worth more than a billion pound and it is currently on hold due to the fact that the investors/contractors have not got enough tenants who will move in to this incredibly beautiful skyscraper when it's construction is done. on the other hand, the leadenhall building is rising each day because most of it's office spaces have been sold to the world's largest insurance company. and by the way, london does not care about frankfurt or paris because they are not in the same league.

You are indeed correct with point 1 although it is undertaking a re-design.

Regarding the tallest tower in the EU. If you're talking about the Millennium Tower in Frankfurt - It's still along way away.

Paris Hermitage Towers are looking more likely.

However, I wouldn't put it past London to go even higher and I think someone will now the market is there after the success of the Shard.

Hermitage towers paris-323 m
Phare tower paris-296m
In the case of start & completion of two towers the match is over

But i apreciate Pinnacle for its design, i just hope they won't change it too much.

, 320m.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Pinnacle's new design...though, I'm very likelly to be very disappointed. The current design was awesome, the best of all designs in London, I don't expect much of it now...

The rendered image was created by Hayes Davidson so your "indignation" should be directed in an email to them, not on here.
