I absolutely love the design. Is there a targeted completion date?

No news or project updates... I just wanted to post this image from Jef.

I just think it's the best photo of Canary Wharf I've ever seen.

To me that pic reminds of the dross that has been erected at Canary Wharf.

I third it....Oh and looking at Canary Wharf...is it me or does the height of it all look rather underwhelming?

well, okay, maybe its not completely shit. i guess im just really, really, REALLY wound up after observing over ten years of damn red tape when it comes to getting skyscrapers built in london, and it depresses me greatly, especially when the rest of the world seems to be just getting on with it

that is a nice photo, and i love canary wharf really, i have to, its the only proper cluster of skyscrapers in london!

You know if real problems occur with the city with its skyscrapers they could always build them out in Canary Wharf.

Well not on the same scale of height - 1 Canada Square (the main, pyramid-roofed tower) is the tallest Canary Wharf can build at the moment because of London City Airport which is about 3km away. Also, the demand is for big floorplates, not revolutionary design.

You get lambasted in this room for dissing London which lets all be honest is a laughing stock on the world wide scale of cities with proper skyscrapers.

Keep trying though.

But London doesn't measure its success on how many / how tall its skyscrapers are... we're not an insecure Asian city trying to assert our greatness here.

No-one is saying we have a great skyscraper skyline, its crap compared to many cities far smaller and less significant in other parts of the world, but what Dubai and Hong Kong don't have we have in abundance: hundreds of historic buildings, palaces, cathedrals, huge parks, stunning areas of Georgian houses.

What we are working towards, and are hopefully on the cusp of, is assembling a (relatively) small skyline of very high-quality, iconic buildings. London will never be (thank God) a Manhattan of mile after mile of highrises all vying for daylight. I personally believe a skyline comprising SwissRe, Tower42, 122 Leadenhall, Broadgate, Willis, Lloyd's and St Helens in close proximity in The City will look impressive and visually very pleasing, complimented by LBT across the river and Canary Wharf in the distance.

I don't want the craziness you see in Hong Kong or Dubai... it simply doesn't befit London.

mrtocsin, are you from Cornwall? judging by the 'kernow Republic' shit you are one of these Cornwall independence people who have an inbuilt hatred of London, which would explain your comments.

If you've nothing constructive to say, please leave...take your petty hates elsewhere..European cities are not known for their skyscrapers in general.. If you must live with massive skyscrapers, you should make plans to live in one of those cities.. Not having a fantastic skyline does not make a city unworthy. Is Prague a joke city, or Rome, just because they don't have skyscrapers??
