Effect of last year Olympic and people postponing trips to London last year because of this is clearly seen now. Tourist figures should be record this year, pretty sure about this.
However, probably not so good for locals, as I would avoid visiting London now for leasure trips until winter I guess.
I too was in the West End last weekend, mainly around the Westminster area. I personally like it when it's busy.

One thing that baffles me is why Boris Johnson cancelled the Parliament Square pedestrianisation scheme. Below are 3 photos I took of Parliament Square last weekend, it would be so much better if it were given the Trafalgar Square treatment:

It's a beauty. They've done well given the site constraints.

It certainly will, when I saw the first images a couple of months ago of the Diamond tower I wasn't that keen but these renders have sold it to me and now I like it.

Barratt Homes!!!

YUK, I wouldn't buy anything built by them, as far as I'm concerned they're a byword for low quality, 1980's rabbit hutch homes, built all over the country, where if you so much as fart, you'll wake up the next door neighbour.

I believe that the Nine Elms projects have to meet certain quality guidelines, so Barratt won't be producing those hutches here.

Virtually certain, it's a Canary Wharf Group project, they know all the right people in the planning process.

Bear in mind that this tower will be virtually hidden behind the Riverside South towers if they get built.

I really can't see on what grounds they'd reject it, certainly not height, the only risk is if they get nervous about local facilities for all the new residents incoming over the next 10yrs.

So buyer beware, wanting that city view because it won't last long..
