I really do hope that the grey cladding on those South Kilburn apartments is of a high quality and that it does not turn out to be like that cheap plasticky look you see on some of the new developments.

SE9, thanks. Are there any renders available for the proposed redevelopment? Is the height of the tower remain the same?

I haven't seen any, and I believe the height will remain the same.

Really hope they don't rebuild the Crystal Palace, the site is now smaller and it would be a shadow of its former self.
Planning permission would be very hard to obtain. I am a Crystal Palace fan and we applied to build a new stadium there, the locals strongly objected to it.
Something must be done with that park though.

I didn't know Nova Victoria had already been approved. Good news.

They have done a great work in the Olympic Park. A truly sustainable park.

Shepherd starts £64m North London resi scheme

Shepherd Construction has bagged a £64m contract for the first phase of a mixed-use scheme in Brent, North London for Royal London Asset Management and Kitewood Development. It will transform a former warehouse site at Capitol Way on Colindale into 379 apartments split across four, six-storey buildings.

The project includes 60,000 sq ft of shops and a 450-space basement car park.

Th deal is the second major win for Shepherd in the Capital in the last few months, after finally signing a £43m contract for the Spring Mews development of student accommodation, hotel and office space in Vauxhall, near the Thames.

Demolition work is underway and Sutton-based Foundation Developments has been signed up for the groundworks.

Architect for Shepherd on the scheme will be Leach Rhodes Walker with Imtech providing mechanical and electrical services and Walsh Associates providing structural engineering expertise.

Mark Tant, managing director of Shepherd Construction’s South Region said: “We are delighted to be involved with the Capitol Way redevelopment that will further unlock the future prosperity of the area by creating a new neighbourhood.”

This seems to suggest that the tower will be demolished as part of the redevelopment.

Ah right you are, I didn't know that a demolition was part of the project.

Haha, it was annoying me for a while. It looks like the piece of rock jutting out in Minas Tirith which Denethor runs off in LOTR.

Aldgate feels like the dumping ground for mediocre highrise design right now.
