Turns out 20 Fenchurch is the one to be put on hold unter a large pre let is secured. Oh and 122 Leadenhall should be starting construction in weeks:

They will seek development partner or significant prelet before starting construction. Instead they will build the mixed-use scheme at One New Change without any development partner after Beacon left the joint venture last year.

- British Land has appointed Bovis Lend Lease to build its Leadenhall tower in the heart of the City.
Bovis Lend Lease will start construction on British Land's new flagship development at 122 Leadenhall Street in Spring 2007. At 225m, it will be the tallest skyscrapers in the City when completed in late 2010.

BTW those Ontario Tower pics are mighty impressive!

With regard 20FC Land Sec had in there latest set of accounts for a finish for 2011.They always said they were looking for a pre-let & development partner . So really it's a non-news story. You can read it either way, depending on how you interpret news that you read.

Northgate

News of a possible 51-storey neighbour for the Broadgate Tower. This will be called Northgate and the developer is Hammerson -

That's exactly the same design as Eastgate in Manchester, not to mention either of the Riverside South towers.

Why do developers/architects bother releasing such awful quality renders/models on the Internet anyway? A 51 storey tower in the city of London is a massive scheme, so a bit of PhotoShop wouldn't go unnoticed, and would surely give people more confidence in the design?

Exactly, this wasn't released by the developers of Northgate

And just as the Broadgate tower is, I expect this is just a massing. Good to know there will be another 180m+ tower in London though

Its from a planning doc for the little white building in the middle of the pic so not anything official to do with Northgate (apart from the developers own both sites)

Isnt that what London is all about!

And its good to see some innovative design , youve got to hand it to Make they always think outside the box and produce some really interesting and quirky designs!

I would imagine that could look quite wide from certain angles. Be nice to see some other views. Take it by the look of things this will be another pure office development. Seems to be a lot of that... wonder if they will find find tenants. Any ideas when they will think about starting this?

All developments in the city of London will be office developments with the exception of the Milton Gate tower which is in/near the Barbican the only purely residential part of the city.

This will go into Land Securities development pipeline (One New change & 20FC are the next projects in there city of London pipeline)so probably wont be built until 2012. But you never know it might get a pre-let or they might choose to develop it earlier.
