They gave it "edges" yes.. almost a hexagonal look to the main structure.

100 Bishopsgate is On Hold.

But 52 Lime Street is due for a 2017 finish as well as The Pinnacle. 40 Leadenhall will top out in 2019.

40 Leadenhall is pretty good, I like the setbacks and how it opens up to the streetscape - what 52 Lime fails at.

52 Lime Street will open a little piazza between itself, the Willis Building and Lloyds.

It will also reflect the lovely old church on its shiny glass cascading side.

It even says that in the planning publication I posted.

"Adjacent to the office entrance will be a new public open space, the re-creation of the historic 'Lime Street Square' which was lost in the 1940's"… probably due to the war.

In fact here is an old picture of the original Lime Street Square… evidently it was lost due to German bombing.

Apparently the principle tenants for 100 Bishopsgate are Deutsche Bank and Latham & Watkins… but they have to confirm the move before the tower starts. I would imagine there is a lot of company meetings and planning before they jump into the move. Its not like you just move some boxes from one place to another and you're in.

Ok I take back the bad things I said about Battersea, it doesn't look like the Heygate. Still, will it be a gucci ghetto like Nine Elms or will normal people be able to live there?

Battersea could have been an iconic stadium if Chelsea had won the bidding.

The Battersea Power Station project is a part of Nine Elms.

I much prefer the current project at Battersea Power Station than a football stadium. I believe it will bring a lot more to area the than if it was a football stadium. In fact I not sure we would have seen all these other developments in the area being released this fast if CFC had won the bid.

The plans that Chelsea released were indeed very impressive. As you say, it would have made for an iconic stadium.

However, I'm very pleased that Chelsea's bid failed. It would have ruined the integrity of an already iconic building - reducing the old power station to being merely one part of an even bigger structure.

For those that don't already know, the stadium as imagined in the above renders is now unlikely to bear any great resemblance to the stadium that will actually be built. The original architects (KSS, by the way - MAKE are responsible for the Northumberland Development Project master plan rather than for the stadium itself) have been taken off the job and Populous are working on a new design. We don't know how different this new design will be and probably won't find out until some time after Eric Pickles has ruled on the CPO of the Archway Sheet Metals building.
