Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners’ LSE project approved - looks like classic Rogers. Said it many times before London's lucky to have him.

I love how highrise Aldgate is.

That hotel proposal opposite The Ritz should be thrown away and locked up forever..

Pinnacle (Bishopsgate) Article:

http://www.insurancejournal.com/news.../18/360912.htm

"When work halted on the Pinnacle tower in the City of London, most investors saw little more than an abandoned site. AXA Real Estate Investment Managers viewed it as an opportunity.

“The foundation exists at this building. This is one thing we like a lot” because it will allow faster completion than rival projects, Pierre Vaquier, chief executive officer at the property unit of Europe’s largest insurer, said in a March 10 interview." ...the article continues...

Quite a good read. I don't think it's been posted yet - if it has, I apologise.

I think that the article was slightly hinting at using the existing foundations and maybe even the core...? Thoughts?

Demolition of the core will commence in the next few months. The existing foundations will be incorporated as part of the 22 Bishopsgate substructure.

Let's be honest. This building looks like the headquarters of some evil Weyland-Yutani-ish corporation. Despicable crimes are being committed within those walls.

I'd rather see the current One Berkeley Street renovated with a glass curtain wall, similar to the old Stock Exchange Tower in the City. It would look much better. Also, the adjacent Holiday Inn should be upgraded to a Crowne Plaza.

The new development surely looks better than the current collection of postwar blocks.
