The link is supposed to take you to an aerial of the Croydon site, not London Bridge. So there shouldn't be a Shard in the view. What it should show is a street of little 19th Century terraces which will be bulldozed for the developemnt.

The reality is that the buildings being demolished are a complete state, and the entire street is hole. I don't think many people will miss them regardless of a few of the buildings having some architectural merit.

Here is the Google StreetView...

thanks for all the updates!

I like the "Mitsubishi tower". Exactly the kind of boxy skyscraper the city needs to fill out some space. Thumbs up!

now if only we could get some info on the Pinnacle replacement and the other rumoured very tall skyscraper

I agree! I do not think it is the best design, but it's what the City needs... a filler that contributes to the skyline, but doesn't steal the show.

Totally agree. Talking about the rumoured super-tall in EC2, does SE9 have any more information? A super-tall in London would be epic! Although I doubt it would get built due to the height restrictions and line of sight protections.

I don't know why people keep going on about a 'rumoured' super tall. The Pinnacle will be submitted at some point soon and will be around 280m. The only tower potentially taller than this , but below 300m will be whatever is eventually proposed for the Aviva tower and were not likely to see an application there for another year at least.
