Most economic decisions and opinions are not about economics at all, but morals, i. e. what kind of society do we want. The best thing you can do is to educate yourself (try it) and make up you own mind about things. It's not rocket science.

I don't know what "leading economists" you have been reading, but if they work in the financial sector or parliament they're most probably ideological manipulators.

Amazing to think even at 216m it doesn't stand out at all in the massing. I can't imagine at this rate the CAA will have much choice but to lift the heights in the area.

really? I was actually surprised to see it was only 216 meters tall, In this picture it looks like it's at least 260.

I think that IS the stone. It looks whiter in the flesh/photo than the yellowy shade of the render.

London property most overvalued in world, warns UBS

[From BBC News] The London housing market has formed the world's biggest house price bubble, according to the Swiss bank, UBS. It said the ratios of property prices to incomes, and property prices to rents, have reached all-time highs. And it warned that London house prices have become more "decoupled" from household earnings than anywhere else in the world. More than any other big city, the capital now faces the risk of a "substantial" price correction. However it was not able to predict when any such correction might occur. In its Global Real Estate Bubble Index, UBS says any city scoring more than 1.5 is at risk of a bubble. London had the highest score, at 1.88. Hong Kong came second, with a score of 1.67.

Sorry, but the existing buildings look so much better than that proposed cheap shitty replacement. All it needs is some clean-up.

Regent House, I agree with you..
