Some smaller projects for London:

Channing School | London NW6

Project facts
  • Client: Channing School
  • Awarded: Surface Design Awards 2016, Public Building Exterior
  • Architect: BuckleyGrayYeoman
  • Description:Phase I of the Channing School redevelopment project in Highgate, London. The 1645 sq m project provides new sports facilities and sixth form accommodation in modern brick-built buildings that overlook north London from the school’s campus at the top of Highgate Hill. The designs for the leading independent day school will add three new buildings to the school’s estate whilst remaining sensitive to, and building upon, its rich architectural and educational heritage. Phase II is to follow in Autumn 2016 which will add a new performing arts building with a 300 capacity semi-professional theatre.

C-Space | London EC1

Project facts
  • Address: 37-45 City Road, EC1Y 1AT
  • Client: Helical Bar
  • Short Listed: NLA Awards 2016, Conservation & Retrofit | Schueco Awards 2016 | Mixology Awards 2016, Large Commercial Interior Project | RICS Awards 2016, Commercial | BCO Awards 2016, Commercial | Architect of the Year Awards 2016, Refurbishment
  • Architect: BuckleyGrayYeoman
  • Description:BuckleyGrayYeoman completed C-Space, a 62,000 sq ft commercial workspace on the corner off City Road and Epworth Street in Shoreditch, East London. The retrofit of the 1960s former carpet factory substantially re-models the building into a stylish commercial development with flexible designed spaces that celebrate its industrial heritage. The C-space interior features an effortless stylish ‘raw’ atmosphere and a unique material palette, including a black steel feature wall with an exposed concrete desk and herringbone brick floor. BuckleyGrayYeoman’s design is cutting back the floor in certain areas of the ground level and allows more natural light into the basement office spaces. The deep-retrofit of this unloved mid-century factory building offers high-quality office accommodation in this fast-developing Shoreditch fringe area and delivers major improvements to the streetscape and creates modern office spaces that has already attracted creative blue-chip tenants.

London is full of them. People don't realize how much city has changed in the last 20 years.

Completed Part:
There's a thread for this one: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1753312

Are those pics under "Completed part" really photos? I didn't realise it was so far advanced, they've really not hung around with the landscaping.

Great work covering these smaller projects!

Steve, I am 100% sure there are real photos, if you look at number of details, i.e. some small dead branches on the trees, staff on balconies, etc

St. John's Way is excellent. Is it pure residential or will there be any shops at the base level?

I believe there will be some shops. If you look at page 3 of this brochure you can see them on ground floor:

Southbank Place is going to be huge!

I didn't think it was that big from the early renders.
