That building has some serious engineering, related especially to the foundations.

Edit: Such a striking gleam from the Leadenhall building in the previous posts. Highgate House has such clean lines, beautiful architecture.

Skanska to start next £70m phase of Helical Bar Old Street site

Demolition work is nearing completion on Phase Two of the scheme which will sit alongside the completed Warehouse and Studio developments.

Phase Two is known as The Tower and will provide 170,000 sq ft of office space and 7,300 sq ft of retail/restaurant space.

Helical Bar has set aside around £70m to build The Tower and it is due for completion in the second quarter of 2018.

John Sisk was originally lined up for The Tower scheme at the back end of last year when work was due to start before Christmas.

The existing office building at 207 Old Street has been stripped back to its original frame and will be extended outwards and upwards and reclad.

if you mean the photo above this question, it's Cartwright Gardens

if you mean the photo underneath, the foreground is Commonwealth House and the background is Centre Point

The Scalpel Secures Tenants | City of London EC2

Website: http://www.standard.co.uk/business/f...-a3357306.html

Publisher: The Evening Standard

The Scalpel is close to securing it's second tenant 'Axis Capital'. This is more good news for the Square Mile.

Quote:
THE developer behind the latest addition to the City of London skyline — the skyscraper known as the Scalpel — is close to signing up its first two occupiers, the Standard understands.

US insurer WR Berkley is behind the 192-metre tall Scalpel and is taking eight floors of the building, including the top two.

But industry sources said US insurer Axis Capital is set to sign up for three floors and broker Berry Palmer & Lyle is understood to be also taking a floor in the 38-storey tower.

One source said: “We’ve had Brexit but the simple fact of the matter is that there’s still a lot of demand and not enough space. This is a good sign that the market is still trading.”

The building is being constructed in the heart of the Square Mile’s insurance district on the corner of Lime Street and Leadenhall Street — a stone’s throw from the inside-out Lloyd’s of London headquarters and the Cheesegrater tower.

Agents Cushman & Wakefield and CBRE are leasing the building, which is due for completion at the end of next year.
