Beautiful skyline! A 1000x nicer than Dubai's in my opinion. But for such a small city to be constructing so many skyscrapers all at the same time, will they actually be occupied? Or will they be like many of Dubai's towers which sit half-empty?

They will all be occupied. This thing is, most of them have JUST been completed, and thus are empty. Some towers have been empty for over a year now. :S

Doha becoming like dubai is a worst case scenario, but in reality it couldnt happen, towers are built slow and are used up (not empty) but on the other hand allot of small offices are being forced to move to westbay area instead of being located at residential areas.

But I mean who are the people who are moving to these towers? Are they foreign companies that are opening up shop in Qatar? Local business that are moving to these towers? New, start-up local businesses? Sorry for all the questions, I am just curious how this all works.

Quote:
Property in West Bay is still a bit overpriced. It's getting better, but most of the towers were built at the height of the construction boom, when the costs for construction materials for many projects shot right up. Prices used to be very high because of that rise in costs, but they are now coming down to more realistic levels as more towers are completed, and demand gets lower. |

Construction is rebounding in Dubai and I would advise you to go and check it out.
I do agree that it has slowed but they started with the pentominium, infinity tower and some developments in Business Bay (the Opus etc....) |
