Frankus, what are the advantages of a steel lift shaft over a concrete lift shaft? Other than speed of construction?

I'm no expert Gherkin007, I think steel is currently cheaper but prices are constantly fluctuating. Of course don't forget that concrete is seen as safer in a fire/disaster (a lift surrounded by a few feet of concrete) - concrete dosn't need to be treated to be resistant to fire, unlike steel.

Man... I was in bus 205 yesterday... What a logistical nightmare it must be to bring crane parts, cement and all the rest to such a location. London is so not built for this century!

There does not seem to be much space for storage of materials. Are most of them delivered and immediately installed?
