To be honest I've no idea...maybe steel framed buildings hold up well as their weight is distributed. Could a plane impact break through a concrete core leaving the building vulnerable?

I don't think it's that nice at all.

Maybe except that metal stuff in the cladding, that looks cool, but except for that, I'm not impressed at all.

Wow, this is progressing fast. I didn't really notice it when I was in London a few months ago. Will be a great addition to the skyline.

Fair enough, I sort of see where you're coming from. After all the massing is quite bulky and bland. However, the quality of the cladding is something to be admired, and I think that live's up to Londons high standards.

I don't know how many floors are there to go. Perhaps a British forumer could answer. But, from what I've heard, it's about 150 metres tall now.

It's very early to judge this building considering it's still got nearly 100m to go and the step-backs / spire haven't appeared yet, but 'bulky?!'

That's just plain strange... It already looks slender, and that's without step-backs, the spire, and another 90-ish metres.

You're judging it on the basic 'box' element of the building.

I can see where you guys are coming from, although the top will be a little more interesting, with the various step-backs and the spire, but I think this is exactly what London needs. We've already got the funky Gherkin and we've got the equally zany Pinnacle on it's way too, possibly 122 Leadenhall too, so with all these "different" towers on display, we need a more reserved and classy skyscraper to balance everything out..............where is where the Heron Tower comes in!
