The world's first family insurance building skyscrapers tower built the 11th century, when only four layers, it is rare in tall buildings. The stone masonry walls tower, each layer should carry on the weight of each layer.

The other day while taking the train into Liverpool Street, I noticed some grey covering around the corner of the roof. Possible preparations for the spire?

The spire is already up but if you didn't notice it then maybe that backs up the views of many who think it is too short and thin...

bit embarrassing from the South but when viewed from East and West I think it looks pretty good

Maybe not the best design ever, shard, pinnacle and leadenhall are all better IMO
