Hong Kong (ANTARA News) - National flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia assured that its remaining debts of 561 million US dollars will be paid in full by 2016.

"The schedule and restructuring of the company`s debts had been approved by the creditors," President Director of Garuda Indonesia Emirsyah Satar said after a non-deal roadshow in Hong Kong Wednesday.

He said the debts of 561 million dollars in March 2010 consisted of 320 million dollars owed to the London-based Export Credit Agency (ECA), 131 million dollars to Floating Rates Notes (FRN) of creditors in Singapore, and 105 million dollars to PT Pertamina, and Angkasa Pura I and II.

The schedule of debts to ECA has been approved to be paid until 2016 with principal installments and interest of 45 million dollars per year.

Likewise payments of Garuda`s debts to Pertamina and Angkasa Pura had also been started since 2009.

Emirsyah said Garuda`s capacity to pay its debts to the creditors was thanks to improvements of its performance.

"In 2009 Garuda`s net profits for the first time reached Rp1 trillion, which had encouraged the company`s management to continue increasing the value of the company," he pointed out.

However, he did not dare to set a projection of the company`s income and profit in 2010, saying only that Garuda this year allocated 100 million dollars in capital expenditures.

The funds is used for business expansion like opening new routes, increased services related to information technology and aircraft replacements.(*)
