This game looks nice IMHO.
SC4 was totally crap, you cant even build diagonal highways and stuff. And all the zones must be build in squares. Crap! No diagonal streets, no historical buildings.

No suburbs? what about the 4th and 10th picture
Bad graphics? are you blind?

The question is, will we be able to mod city life? If so, it will probably be better than Sim City 4. If not, the game will get boring after a while. What stands out to me about City Life are the buildings all look the same...not much variety. But the same can be said for Sim City 4 without the MODS. If I have some extra money at some point I will probably buy it for the heck of it...cause you never know.

This game has merits especially if we are allowed to mod it. Look at Vanilla sc4 it had nothing not even avenues so all who hail maxis think again. I would not hold my breath for sc5 I don't believe it will ever come out. Simply not enough money in it for EA and all they want is cash. If games sell they bring out a new game evey 12 months. How long since Rush hour came out ? 2 years ago at least. No hinting that simcity 5 is being made. That means at leat 2 years till another Simcity. I believe they have given it up.

SC4 crap...excuse me, that was a dumb comment.
so you can't build on diagonal streets huh? can't get diagonal highways? NO HISTORICAL BUILDINGS? fellow SSC forumer...try playing the game, try looking at simtropolis a little...stop trashing the game because you suck at it and move on.

Once a few of these complainers look at some of the cities built here, or maybe what they will see in time will make them realize SC4 is still the best urban planning and managment game on the market, even if city life enters the market tomorrow.

As for SC5, I know of somebody specifically who works at EA, he works in the game creation and I asked him face to face about SC5...he just said "wait" and smiled.

MARCO
You CAN build diagonal highways by default,
You CAN download a diagonal street mod,
You CAN build AND zone historical buildings.
ALL IN SC4.
And what makes you think City Life would be able to zone any differently?
I might as well say your use of rude language is completely INappropriate as well as unsupported.
As for my opinion on this game...
Just like Rollercoaster tycoon 2 versus 3, City life would no doubt be 100x more cartoonish than SC4. Although being able to see the city in 3D would be cool, I wouldn't recommend this game unless it accepts downloads (mods, lots,GMAX models, etc.) , the vehicles are drivable, and it has transportation systems equal to or greater than that of SC4.
As of now, I prefer Simcity MUCH more.

UNLESS...

Oops, thers already a reply to my quoted post

the game looks great!

the graphics are cool though... a liittle "cartoonish" but cool! the overall graphics are better than SC4.... and now you can live your city in full 3D, like an "in-your-face" game.

the perfect game would be the mix of SC with GTA where you can build your city and live it totally, walking on streets and driving cars and other vehicles.

Well i think the game isn't that bad, except for the graphics but hey, it's not even released yet.. Who knows if the developer might improve on the graphics before it is released..? One thing that interests me about this game is that we are able to zone buildings diagonally as well, not only the roads and surely the ability to 'stroll' along your city and experience it as how your citizens are... But for now i'm still going for SC4

The problem with Simcity is that buildings are built on tiles. When you build a diagonal road, the buildings aren't built along it but still according to the same tiles. You can't chose another orientation of buildings, and that makes the creation of a historical center nearly impossible.

If you take SC5 and intergrate a The Sims aspect into it (like God mode, Mayor mode, etc) and make it 3D and tweak it up over about 2 years time, and make it way easier, then you've got a game that looks better than City Life, has mods for it, and is more popular

This game sucks compared to Sim city. Its not real enough yet, and there's way too many buildings that look the same. And like others have said, there's no farms or railroads or anything. As far as i'm concerned, this game needs alot of changes and improvments before I invest in it. I'm sticking to Sim city.

sorry but to me this is garbage, it looks quite unreal and most of the buildings are ugly and has no diversity, I hope SC5 will be thousands of times better than this.
