Yes, I am flying between Trivandrum and Bangalore since May 2006. I presently work in Trivandrum, will be in Bangalore mostly during holidays and weekends since my wife is there.

I have taken a house in Trivandrum and a flat in Bangalore for rent and lives in both.. Anyway I am in the process of shifting to Bangalore permanently for some time. Will be flying down to Trivandrum only once in two months or so thereafter.

Of course, only thing is that I am not much settled in Banglore now, my car is in Trivandrum, also used to zipping in fifth in Trivandrum roads, choked Bangalore roads intimidate me. So I seldom go out exclusively for a shoot session. Also I wont be having time to spare, little time I get has to be spent with wife, isn't? I would be rushing back on Monday mornings straight to my office in Trivandrum.

Now I click wherever I need to go, thatz all..Let me become a full time Bangalorean, will be sketching the city and projects in detail. And I hope to get in to the same industry I work now, infrastructure and real estate, so will get more avenues for exploration.

Big Bazaar visits are a must for stock replenishment at home. This is a new one at Old Madras Road, between NGEF and K R Puram.

BTW some of you guys would be remembering Rajith who has a nice showcase gallery of Bangalore photos. I met him in this Big Bazaar that day.

interesting reads chetta...
welcome to KA then.

i did some researching the other day. all the big guys are into eyepopping projects. brigade, prestige, divyashree, shobha, purva, mallya, vijay amritraj etc etc. no more apt complexes, big big townships onlee. as they say in kannada jana marulo jaathre marulo, in tamizh enge poyi nikka porado enno?

if you can somehow forget being stuck in the traffic and just look skywards it looks like bangalore is very watchable. just dont look at the ground, keep your eye in the sky.
lol

btw, where are you situated?
from what i read, ORR, whitefield and Devanhalli are bursting.

Thanks for the comments Sun, arijeet, vadi & Prakash..

Vadi, yes, now it is 'Lifestyle Enclaves' rather than plain vanilla apt buildings. And what I find is that the race is more in Bangalore rather than any other city. We had visited some such projects last year like Brigade Millenium (completed), Brigade Metropolis, Prestige St Johns Woods (completed), Purva Riviera, Purva Fountainsquare, Purva-Keppel Land Elita Promenade etc before finalising our similar project in Trivandrum.

BTW I didn't get what you wrote in Kannada and Tamil. Could you please repeat it in Hindi/English?

If you can avoid the present CBD of Bangalore, then the traffic is not a problem. My flat is near HAL/BEML etc and about 1.5 km from HAL Airport. Going towards whitefield area is not troublesome. I noticed that suburban areas are coming in nice way with good apartments and less shanty structures. The amount of apts being constructed is huge. Whitefiled area lots of activity. Plus IT parks of RMZ, Brigade, etc. Business class hotels are also coming up.

Marathahalli bridge works are nearing to completion. One year back there was only a two lane bridge over the single railway line (un-electrified) to Hosur. Now another bridge is almost ready. After the bridge, on the left side, huge apartment complexes of Purva Riviera, Fountainsquare and another mumbai developer are getting topped up. I was driving alone plus it was crawling traffic due to works with no space to stop, hence was not able to click the scenes.

I feel that with the focus shifting to the suburbs, life would become better. Plus the road projects and metro hold promises.

I am seing Bangalore for the last one year and feel that things are improving. When I visited during Jan-Feb 2006, most roads were in bad condition, including the Airport road, Old Madras Road etc. Now things are getting better and roads are repaired. Seems the new Govt is doing some thing. Also the condition of BMTC buses. They are kept in good shape and most are not in the usual battered tin box conditions of other cities. And not to speak about the Volvos!!!I simply love them. I still remember the sight of two volvos overtaking me one by one with a humming sound in the Marathahalli-Airport Road last week.

RMZ NXT

Next to SAP Labs campus. SAP has also taken space here as well as Caterpillar.

Another showpiece from the RMZ stable ...However the roads in front seem too narrow for the daily onslaught of private vehicles

Bangalore was the top city in India in absorbing office space in India last year, with 11.2 million sft! And it was third in the whole world!

Some more from RMZ
