I went past the site this morning and there were workmen on the site of the fish resturant and I noticed a section just past the resturant had been cleared already. It might be nothing there were certainly no bull dosers, but could demolition already have started?

Looking at the pictures it looks like they are salvaging the flooring for future use or sale before they bring in the bull dozers and flattern the site.

Shortlist for Birmingham Cube
Miller & Sir Robert McAlpine have been shortlisted to build Birmingham Development Company's 42,000 sq m (450,000 sq ft), 17 storey Cube building in Commercial Street, Birmingham, as part of Birmingham Mailbox. The final landmark phase of The Mailbox has been designed by Make. Construction is to start in late 2006 for 2008 completion. DTZ and GBR are agents for the offices in the scheme.

Careful now cookies - after seeing what Orion has turned out looking like, we should start exercising a little bit of caution - if not trepidation - when it comes to expecting the final end product of this new project which we so fervently drool over..... it might yet look like a complete disaster.

You're on form tonight MG! I have a feeling you are swaying a lot of people your way. The Cube could look like a bad mistake, especially as it's as wide as it's tall.

it could do, but onwe thing you are forgetting that unlike the likes of the architects of orion and etap (if that even required an archtect), this is the first building to come online from Kens MAKE architects....

I don't think there's any need to worry about this one. Unlike the renders of Orion, images of this building from all angles and perspectives have been shown. Remember we never saw renders of orion in the light or it's back side.
