Through the rumor mill.....Oceanaire (think Morton's except dedicated to seafood) was supposed to be the main restaurant in this building but has decided to pull out. Once again, a rumor, but a pretty solid one.

The building website (www.353nclark.com) says that The Oceanaire, Ruth's Chris and Rosa Mexicano are going to be in the building. Of the 3, only Rosa has a "coming soon - Chicago, IL" blurb on their own site. I know Ruth's is just up the road on Dearborn - are they still planning to relocate?

I work for a company that is moving into this building in 2010. Very much looking forward to it!

Anyone excited for the Greenway self park garage across the street from the building? Like 353 N Clark and the Marriott hotels, Friedman Properties is also building the parking garage.

Win free parking for a month!

But really, check out all the green features. Then look at their logo: a car that emits leaves.

I suppose as far as any structure goes (garage, building, house), the "green" features are admirable. I still would rather see an actual building on top of such a prime piece of real estate. I'll reserve judgement on the appearance until it's done.

As far as parking structures are concerned, Greenway Self-Park is one of the most environmentally-conscious and well-designed that I've seen.

Mesirow Financial shows off new digs
By Becky Yerak

For the first time in its 72-year history, Mesirow Financial is moving its headquarters into a new building.

The Chicago-based financial services firm recently began occupying 353 N. Clark St., across the street from its current home office.

It'll occupy floors four through 17 and have options for another five in the 45-floor building.
