It's about time we saw a rendering! This one works for me! Certainly better than the River North Center Hotel going in across the street.

^ You're still in Locums? Damn! I almost started Locums but bailed on them in the last minute--they were royally pissed. I got a 'permanent' position

^ You bet your arse I'm not staying in New York. The problem is, the best positions for the field we are in aren't in the big cities. I may have to do the far-flung exurb thing--YUCK!

And just to stay on topic: I can't wait for construction to start on this thing

I love this building. Granted, the design isn't revolutionary, but it's nice and sleek and will fit in very well amidst its neighbors (which will include 300 N. La Salle).

dont mean to be too off topic either but what the hey......
with subspecialities in medicine i think its better to work in small cities
than exurbia, perhaps rockford, milwaukee, madison
its tough, my friend who is a urologist works and lives in quincy, il
four hour train ride to chicago and hopefully airport will fly direct to chicago again,

Done and done. Spy, thanks for those renderings. I'll add them to the front page, as I like to make sure the first page of each project thread has current renderings.

Does anybody know the name or have info on the project going up across the street from 353 North Clark. It would be on the NW side of Clark and Kinzie. It's going up pretty fast. I believe it's supposed to be a hotel.

^ Ahhh, HELL yeah. Nothing like a clean site just ready to sprout into action. I can hear the highrise that's about to come up just roaring beneath the soil, saying "LET ME OUT!"

On a side note, those old 19th century buildings in the background (around the middle of the pic) look nice. I hope some of that stuff remains to keep some of River North's charm

Me too, I am very worried of such buildings getting encroached upon in the not so distant future. That would be a major loss in my opinion and would really take away from a cool contrast and variety that hopefully should always be there. Unfortunatly the way things go I could see some developers wanting to demolish them instead of developing one of the many lots in the area. .

I don't know about the drawbacks but I almost wouldn't mind a preservation district to protect them.

^ River North Marriott Suites in background.

^ Looks like more soil testing is taking place. They’ve been doing this on and off for at least six months. Must have found something interesting.
