Encasing the electrical service in concrete ( PVC in concrete ) - I think this was planned to serve as an access point to the site until the service was uncovered and then hung from these girders.

May 08
Filling in the space between the basement wall and the sheet piles.

Foam filled ramp.
Raw material

Laid down and trimmed - now the wire mesh is laid over.

Generous amount of concrete.

May 09
Wilkin Insulation Co ( the spray on stuff for the stell beams and columns ).

Trimming off the sheet pile ( SW ), the ramp poured the day before will allow trucks to pull through from Clark to Dearborn. The area being filled with concrete is in this path.

Self raising core ( we think the silver poles are what actually hold the thing up, 2 on the left are down, grey bracket on the right is one of that pair repositioned up. ).

Flexible form - making the rounded part of the W side.

With all of these new buildings going up around Marina City the views from those apartments are fast going to crap. My old apartment there in 1999 had a nice Northwest view of the city and this particular building is going to destroy that....

If you value the views so much, why not move into 353 N. Clark?

Just a quick thank you Harry C for bringing us up close and personal to all the nitty gritty of highrise construction. I especially appreciate learning the nomenclaure of structural members and machines.
