Good to see Chicago has a solid supertall proposal now then!
(Chicago Spire isn't definite but I have large hope for it)

Looks like it just scrapes 300m judging those renders

I'm definitely digging this design, I think it would be a great addition to the skyline.

Surely a hopeful sign that Fifield is leaning towards doing the 75 story tower?

It does until you look at the last picture, it looks only a little bigger or about the same size as those buildings next to Sears so probably right around the ~300 meter range.

Still great, unexpected news though... I wonder how serious of a proposal this is.

Just imagine this, Wolf point and the Chicago Spire, Chi-town would look more amazing than it already does!

Don't forget the 93 story Realtor Building proposal and the new Jeanne Gang tower that is rumored to be taller than Aqua.

I didn't know about that one, is there a thread on it? Is that a legit project? I like the sound of that.

Which one? The Jeanne Gang project or the Realtor Building?

To me, none of these are official. I don't consider any project official until there's an official press release or something.

so far we have this:

1) Realtor Building - The National Association of Realtors board members voted to explore the possibility of replacing their current HQ with a 93 story building. One article mentioned more news would come by summer. Also, 6 different designs were said to have been presented. However, until we see these designs or a design and get more details, we don't really know how serious this proposal is.

2) 625 West Monroe - About two years ago there was an article in one of Chicago's major business publications stating that Fifield was courting tenants for a new office tower at 625 W. Monroe. In the article Fifield stated that tenants preferred a taller "landmark tower" instead of a shorter tower. Then he went on to say as a result of those preferences, he was looking to build a tower up to 75 stories which would include office, hotel and apartment, if everything lined up. Fast forward to today when we get a handful of renderings from Spyguy over at Skyscraperpage with the caption "potential design" and nothing else.

3) Jeanne Gang tower at Lakeshore East - A few weeks ago that same business publication published an article about the developer joining forces with Studio Gang (architect of Aqua) for a second tower. More info and possibly rendeings is said to be forthcoming in about 6 months. So, this one is actually in the works, we just don't know the official height. Although someone on Skyscraperpage mentioned they've see the design and that it's taller than Aqua.

Anyway, until full renderings are revealed and each project is made public with details, I don't really consider them official but that's just me.

^ The man is correct the only building that we can look forward to right now is wolf point, and it still has a possibility of being a supertall

Beautiful design but I'm not sure it is a supertall. Looks around 280-290m to me
