Someone quoted that Ashok Leyland is building a head office in Guindy (13 floors with 2 UG floors). This might be it as there is an Ashok Leyland Ad right in front of it. Just a guess

from Central, the next leg of my photography session was along Poonamallee High Rd - Chennai's 2nd arterial rd after Mt rd... amazingly, there's actually more high rises on this rd than in MRC, but since it's so widely spaced out, you tend not to notice...

starting from just outside Central is this beautiful old structure...

further down the rd is the Ripon Building complex, home of the Corporation of Chennai... (btw, i was rather pleased with myself over this shot and the one of Central, so make sure you enjoy them extra!!

)

good to see some old bldgs being made use of and maintained to some extent...

moving along the PH rd, in this pic, you can get a better sense of the width of the rd... also visible is the steeple of the St Andrew's church under renovation... notice the greenery all around, from the median to the trees all over...

completely agree... what i meant is that it's unfortunate that such prime property shd be used up for residences on the commercial belts of the city, to the extent that commercial activity is now largely on the peripheral parts of the city... i just felt that things ought to be the other way around... i'm all for modern residences btw...

here's a few more for a start...

proceeding along PH Rd, a few commercial bldgs this time - the Brooklyn business centre ( to the left of pic ) and Arihant's Sapna Trade Centre, occupied by HCL...

another couple of shots of Sapna TC...

sports cars still a rare sight, but nowadays i see a porsche at least once a week, and one of the lesser sports cars once in two days on average...

Chennai's most recent fixation has been with parks - not just of the IT kind either... this is the Nehru Park on PH rd - one of several new parks inaugurated over the past couple of months, with several more nearing completion...

Ferrari_Fan.. its not Shanti theater because Shanti is on Mount Road

Shanthi theatre is not visible from mount road, its a bit inside and covered
with buildings all around. This should be either SANGAM or EGA theatre complex on PH Road.
