Benidorm's skyscrapers are not really pretty, but it's a city of only 65000 inhabitants (around 400,000 in summer, and the city only receive regional/national funds for the official figure of 65000 inhabitants), so don't ask for any office tower by a famous architect, I think for a city of its size is good enough to have a skyline greater than most of the largest european cities, its architecture doesn't look "pretty", but there are a lot of very original buildings, and in the 70's it was the place where spanish architects made their high-rise experiments. Some people criticizes its urbanism when they see only pics of Benidorm, but from inside you can see the urbanism is the best thing of the city, because it's got very thin and tall buildings that let a lot of free ground for wide streets and green zones. But this is a forum about skyscrapers, and sincerely, Benidorm is by far the only real skyscrapercity in Europe, if you just like tall buildings, this city will give you feelings that you can't have in 7000 km around (I think that's the distance from Benidorm to New York ), and the only one in Europe where owning a flat in a 26th floor is just an ordinary thing, and not surprising for your friends/neighbours.

Sure Benidorm isn't catering architecture, it's catering facilities. It's in the name, 'dorm'... fact is, it's successful, there's a demand, or construction wouldn't go up at such a rate, people who rent an appartment for a couple of weeks or up to a month won't give a damn what their building look like, they'll want beach, night clubs and restaurants, cheap booze... not a prime example of how to develop a city, but it's a pretty unique place in europe, so let it enjoy it's growth, making abstraction of the ugliness of some dev.

Some updates from spanish forumers:

New tower cranes on the plot of Residencial In Tempo (52f-200m)

(pic by Ciclope)

Torre Lúgano (43fl-158m) structure is almost topped out, the floor slabs are finished, now they are building the spire

(by Veermer)

from far, it seems so tall because it's on a 75m hill, so it will look like a 235m tower when finished

(by Cíclope)

Torre Kronos (41fl.)

(by Veermer)

Torre Mediterraneo (40fl-over 150m) just started

(By Veermer)

Edificio Don Jorge (36fl)

(by Veermer)

Edificio Don Jorge at right, and Torre Lúgano at left

(by Veermer)

Mirador del Mediterraneo (33fl) is finished:

(by Veermer)

Coblanca 41 (30fl) almost finished
