Rules, FAQ, suggestions and building list.

RULES: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

This is a forum where we can post polls on buildings and rate them. There are a few rules in order to organize it correctly.

1. Most obvious but still needs to be told. Stay polite, no racist, nationalist or aggressive attitudes are welcome. This is a forum for architecture rating and having pleasure seeing nice pictures from many buildings and various architecture. Also, you're rating the architecture, not the religion or the political idea behind. If you think this or this building is crap because it was built for a reason you disapprove or dislike, then better not vote at all, it will be considered as trolling and downvoting, which is lame.

2. Even as a moderator, I'm open to all suggestions and opinions. This is the thread where you can express your opinions, tell your ideas, etc.. Every constructive post is gladly welcome.

3. All the threads here must be created following some few rules, the first one is the title. In three part. The first one is the name of the building itself (which you can give in any language, the one of its country being often cooler IMO), then is the city and finally the country. On this model building, city-country. Yet if a title isn't exactly correct it's not dramatic and the thread can live on. But still, I really want the name of the city in, I hate wasting my time on google trying to find the city of a building I don't know.

4. The poll itself have to be done from 10 to 3 using .5 steps. This is how it should looks like.

5. One poll per building only. All "duplicatas" will be deleted.

6. Of course, it's not an absolute rule. But the thread have to be interesting. If you can add information on the history of the building. Or its conception, it would be a great addition to the poll (and can help the building winning a few points).

The Chart

It is here. Enjoy .

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where do I know how high the building is rated?
A. You have a real time chart using a database here

Q. What can I do if I missed a poll?
A. If the poll isn't correct, the best thing you can do is creating a new one with a correct poll. And sending me by Private Message the link to the wrong one. Wich I will erase. Since I can completly remove them from database and the chart, I am the mod you should tell about otherwise a wrong poll will still be included in the chart.

Q. What can I do if I forgot the poll?
A. Just PM me and I'll add it.

Q. I want to change my mind on a vote, how can I do?
A. Well, once again, you have to report it by private message to me. But, I'll only do it under two conditions: The first one is only in public poll (so I can be sure who voted what), and the second one is that you also post in the mentioned thread to have a clear tracks without possible contestation on this.

Q. I think there is downrating trolling, what's the best to do?
A. Once again, public polls are the best to check it. If someone is giving bad notes to all building of a special criteria (like all building of a special nationality). You can report it to me too, but you can't be sure I'll do something. Only OBVIOUS trolling will be considered.

Q. I am against public polls because I want to vote without anyone to see my vote. Could they be forbidden here?
A. No, the choice of a public poll is up to the creator of the poll. And they are usefull for poll modification and organisation of the thread.

Q. Essential question, what kind of building are we rating here? Existing building? Destroyed buildings? Bridges? Churchs?

A. Everything you have in mind. But for skyscrapers there are other sections.

Q. What is the minimum configuration for this forum?
A. First you need a computer able to see the net, due to the large number of pictures in a single thread, low connections or computers with a small memory might have a hard time loading them. Well, I'm sorry for them but it's the concept of the forum. Just imagine there is a BIG "56K die" warning at the entrace of this forum. Plus a DirectX9 graphic card is required, two Geforce 6 6800 Ultra should do it. The sound card is optional though.
