One of the weirdest buildings in the world... looks like an optical illusion!!

No, these ARE NOT RENDERS, but actual photos of the building, which is in the final stages of construction at the city of Salvador, in Brazil.

There are windows, but you can hardly see them. They are the "darkest" triangles.

Is that really a building? It looks so much like a computer rendering. I'm sorry I just can't believe it.

Ok, that looks much more realistic. Its a very interesting building, but it kinda looks like the walls were just painted. I don't know thats just me.

It seems that at least the dark triangles (which are glass) have reflections... so when you pass by it, the change in reflections may create a different effect than the "painted" effect seen on still photos.

The first ones really don't look real, even if they are.

to prove its really a building, not a render, here a picture of it u/c, before all the "windows" were put in place... only the front façade had the windows in this image. (its the building with the blue protection screen around)

I think it's really cool! It looks almost 80s compared to the other buildings. I like the unusual. The second building is interesting too.

When I looked at the first building, I thought it would be interesting to have a skyscraper built that was like piano keys. Eg white windows interspersed with black windows. That would be really cool. And probably really 1980s

I'll admit that this guy's (the architect's) buildings are wierd, but he also deserves a lot of credit for his skill in the field of using shades of paint to fool people into thinking that some of his buildings are jagged/CG/whatever when they are flat/physical/opposite of whatever.

The first building is actually quite cool, but the second one is wierd (but hey so are the newer ones in Hyderabad), while the last building looks, ah, hideous (despite the cleverness of the illusion).

Someone should use the general style of the first building on a larger scale, for example how about a nice and tall (300+m) building that looks like a boring box at first glance but is actually tesselated and looks like a computer render whenever you take pics of it?

It's just an idea though.

Ha, the rendering on the billboard below doesn't have triangles at all, guess they didn't want to give away the surprise.
