Nah, depends. The only thing was that most news sites brought the news as if there was a huge fire in the 'Twin towers' of Europe. They didn't mention that it was under construction so people were already comparing it to 9/11

That's the most important thing.

Shock and sympathy from London.

Fire rips through huge Moscow skyscraper
By Moscow correspondent Norman Hermant

Moscow's night sky was lit up by flames as a fire broke out in a skyscraper which is planned to be Europe's tallest building.

Authorities say the fire started on the 67th floor of city's Federation Tower, which is under construction and is due to have 93 floors when it opens in 2013.

For much of the night, a huge orange plume of flames and smoke could be seen on the top of the tower as the fire burned over several floors.

Four helicopters joined the effort to extinguish the fire, which is now under control.

For several hours they hovered above the Moscow River, using buckets to pick up water and then climbing above the tower to douse the flames.

Officials say because the skyscraper was under construction it had no fire prevention system.

Strong winds and an abundance of construction materials were fuelling the fire.

So far, no injuries have been reported.

The building is part of a group of skyscrapers that make up Moscow's new financial district.

This is part of what is often called the "Calimero-syndrome".

Usually only affects smaller countries, though.

Oh well at least no one was hurt or killed. Maybe once the damage is repaired they might feel compelled to get a move on and get this finished!

Another Polish news:
http://wiadomosci.wp.pl/gid,14382862...a,galeria.html

Please don't take this website seriously, it's sth like Bild or Daily Mirror.

PS I noticed some months ago, there is a great demand for catastrophical news from Russia, but for positive info - very little one. I read something important about FT on this forum and more than two weeks later I saw link to an information about this project in Polish media. The same information I read here earlier

Well, thank God no one got killed here. However, there was another fire in Moscow market where some people were not so lucky. RIP to all of those.

Although it may delay construction in the short term, in the long term, and on the upside, it may actually lead to greater emphasis on speedy completion.
