Oh no this building is soooo ugly. If that diagram of yours is correct shard baby, this is worse than I thought, it's almost a square!

Don't worry yourself AlexsAmazingIpad. Here's a section of the building taken from the official, but now redundant website;

Scalatrava89, that's better but I still don't really like the design

I don't like it either.
It's top heavy, stumpy and unbalanced.

However, if you turn the whole building upside down then add the top to the bottom you end up with something world class!

Haha, brilliant.

I actually like the preportions we have though - 180m might have been a little too big for this!

Losing pedestrian space at the base and the sky garden in the process.

A slightly obscured view looking down from Plantation Place. Only on my phone, otherwise I'd have zoomed in a bit.

Efforts to take better photos today were unfortunately hampered by the low sun shining brightly onto the dirty viewing panel windows, but this is what I got:

I do like this building, I think it's one of those underrated ones that will turn out better then expected. However I think it will stick out like a sore thumb slightly until more high-rises surround this and group it together with the others.

you can't even seen leadenhall building from this angle in this picture because this beast blocks the whole thing, what a disappointment.

PERSONALLY I think 20FC has a more of an interesting face than the Leadenhall Building. Gotta love multiple curves .

Hull you've hit the nail on the head - that's exactly what it's like, that's its shape. I never thought the nickname walkie-talkie suited it, though I guess it's caught on sufficiently that it's here to stay. But I will now always think of this as the Sore Thumb.

[QUOTE=Magnog;84903665]QUOTE]

If this is getting called the Sore Thum then I'm now re-naming "the City of London" to "the Hand of London"

Take your left hand, place it flat out then arrange your fingers to creat an accurate London skyline model!

20 Fenchurch - Thumb
T42 - Index
The Pinnacle - Middle
122Leadenhall - Ring
Gherkin - Pinkie
