2008 meet up 1
Well lads - as we are well into the New Year I was wondering if any of you would like to meet up for a few drinks some evening soon. I know that there isn't much happening at the minute but a night on the tiles might do us all good, especially if your January was a chaotic as mine...........
Anyway if there is demand maybe we can arrange a date? I might finally get a chance to meet you all properly. ![]() Eamonn

I'm up for this.... been meaning to suggest it myself :-)
That said, I'm busy trying to get my dissertation done, and then I'm off to Germany for a week... but next month is great for me. And seeing as that I'm student scum, it can really be any night of the week for me.

Yeah I'm up for a few drinks too - I can do pretty much any time apart from April, so count me in if we can get enough people interested

I'm up for this too, last time was a good laugh. If we can agree a rough date we could look for something to do rather than just pubbing it... unless of course we'd rather just pub it? Was thinking something, at least tenuously, related to Glasgow and architecture... even just a talk or something... I'm babbling...

Ok my dear children, I can confirm my availability, in principle, for this event, although I will offer two theoretical obstacles:
a) I'm playing football b) Mrs Legs doesn't let me May I also suggest that we make a wee trip to Clydebank and go up the crane? Maybe this would be better later in the year with more light in the evening? Maybe its a crap suggestion? Subject to me getting a new car in time (I totalled mine at the weekend ) I'd be happy to be the taxi boy.

Here, thats a great idea re the Titan! Gweilo was talking about Dumbarton in another thread too, if we wait till its nicer we could do a trip to the rock, have a look at the mess thats been made of the town, then to Clydebank for the Titan and back into civilisation for drink? Although that does all sound a bit HGish...
Shame about the car, hope you (and anyone else involved) are alright!

Maybe SSC and HG could arrange rival trips to the crane on the same day, with only Crusty talking to both camps?
Nah, it's a great suggestion, although maybe, yes, later in the year.

Very interesting thread to read through actually, but I think you've pissed one particular person off, more than a whole swathe of people.
You're going to have to do better than that if you want to big up your pariah status.

Arf, Crusty thats childsplay compared to what happens in le citytalk section
![]() The Titan Crane is an awesome idea, I've been wanting to see that for some time. But I also agree that we should wait til slightly better weather sets in before we go.

Ditto all of the above. I do think that it would be good to try and do something though - not entirely sure what though! Maybe the Mackintosh trail - I've lived in Glasgow 11 years and I've never done it, though I reckon I've seen most of the buildings on it, however the question stands have I actually looked at them. Anyway, I'm open to suggestions.

Right - does anyone actually fancy doing something?
I would have nudged earlier, but this month has been surprisingly busy for me. Clocks go forward end of this month if we fancied doing something that required light. I'm equally happy with the pub though. If people are up for this, can we set a date, that might focus minds?

I'm still up for it - all my essays and stuff get handed in on the 7th April, so I'm up for anything after then. Pub is grand with me, but I do reckon it'd be a wasted opportunity if we didn't do something SSC related..

Well I've got a crit on the 3rd of April (those who do or have studied architecture will know who stressful they are), and after that I'm free for ages... so that works for me.
