Unusually for a building in London, this 'thing' seems to be more popular in the world forum than in the UK forum, where most people absolutely detest it.

Its the asymmetry which really bugs me I think... In a city of spires and domes it just looks... well... wrong!

its nasty, and the fact its now shorter for some reason makes it more stubby and nasty. a real bad egg this one, and ammunition for anti skyscraper people of the UK. bad news.

Yes Eureka! I wouldn't mind it in my city either. There was Crazy John's plan for a 120m office tower shaped like a mobile phone on Melbourne's Southbank. The building was to feature a giant keypad and an enormous display screen. Thank god it didn't get approval. BTW FYI Crazy John's is a mobile phone retail chain in Australia. ![]() Render below with Crazy John in the foreground. Similar shape to the tower being discussed in this thread. ![]() ... It is the context of the skyscraper that is wrong. If it was up against some more and taller blocky scrapers it would look great, but it is out there all on its own looking like a hulking great monostrosity.
I am really worried that this will be the only proposal that actually gets built.

What is the vacany rate in London right now? Is this likely to be built without a tenant?
It's a unique concept but does not look good. |

its bleeding shite. and for us UK peeps, painful, cos this one seems to be going ahead at light-speed..... so many amazing projects have died, cos they have taken so long, so much opposition, but this one, no, straight in... its very frustrating for the majority of UK skyscraper fans.
