yeah great cladding in my opinion, but still terribly ugly, heavy, very bad especially if seen from the london bridge

Some good news about the project

Quote:
Land Securities secures City lettings

Land Securities said its decision to kickstart development despite a weak economic backdrop was paying off with a number of lettings at its major developments during the third quarter.

The FTSE 100 property company has let four floors of its 'Walkie-Talkie’ skyscraper in the City of London to insurance company Royal Sun Alliance. It has also let space at the development at 20 Fenchurch Street to Ascot Underwriting.

The building in the heart of the City’s insurance district is currently under construction with more than half the space prelet or in solicitors’ hands.
Land Securities said it had also now fully let the office space at its mixed use development One New Change, also in the City. The retail element of the scheme is more than 99pc let.

Chief executive Rob Noel said it was about offering tenants the right sort of space in the right locations.

He said “retail is not dead, it is changing”, as the company engages in the final stages of its Trinity Leeds retail scheme, which is scheduled to open its doors on March 21.

IMHO it's very smypathic and special.

A benefit for London.

The quality of it is just like nearly always in London very good.

I actually don't found it repulsive as I thought when I saw the renders. Depending on the angles it doesn't look bad, I think, specially from the street.
I also found the street facade appealing, I've always like more that kind of three-dimensional facade better than just a plain curtain wall.

No ofc not. I don't wanna go offtopic but in England you have supermarkets that are expensive, normal and cheap. You get the same product but at Waitrose or Sainsbury's you pay double the amount. ASDA and TESCO are cheap. Fat and poor customers is just a stereotype. I only care about which supermarket is the closest

In the case of the shard, I think it is better a plain curtain wall, so the shape is emphazised as well as the planes that compose it. And with a plain curtain wall it also looks more, well like a shard...

This building seems to be going to eat the others in front... I really liked it!

The view from the last floor will be something truly special...

What if... this building is actually pointing upwards towards the cluster, and not slouching towards the river?
